PM SHRI Schools
PM Schools for Rising India PM SHRI is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India. The aim of the programme is to nurture students in a way that they become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society as envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020
Delighted and honored to share that our Vidyalaya has been chosen for the PM SHRI program and over a period of 4 years, Rs. 4 crores are likely to be granted. Under PM SHRI, KV Adoor organized the following activities in accordance with the given guidelines.

A selfie point was installed with an aim to disseminate the efforts, emanating out of NEP 2020 to transform the school education scenario in the country.
Under 21st Century Learning Skills – Media literacy programme, students had the opportunity to visit both print and visual media establishments at Trivandrum. Under IT literacy programme, a one-day robotic workshop was organized for the selected students of ATL under the guidance of ATL mentor Shri. Cidhu.
Under Citizenship skills programme, youth parliament was conducted enhance students’ understanding of democratic processes, and nurture leadership skills through a mock session of the parliament.
Under Skill development programme, hands on training on mat making was given to secondary students in the month of November.
Under Access Infrastructure programme, we implemented initiatives to promote Green Schools. These efforts involved setting up a composting facility, creating a kitchen garden with drip irrigation, and enhancing landscaping with lawns and diverse plants in various areas. An expert talk on sustainable development was given. Additionally, Swachhta Pakhwada was observed, and three cleaning drives outside the Vidyalaya were organized. For Class XII students, field visits were arranged to Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute, as well as Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium Vizinjam. The initiatives taken were acknowledged, and the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment has chosen our Vidyalaya in Pathanamthitta district to implement the Environment Education Program for the year 2023-24.
We acquired 14 desktop computers in the first phase of digital library establishment. As part of smart classroom setup program, we also purchased an LED interactive touch panel with a stand. It has now become an essential part of the morning assembly, supporting the seamless integration of ICT.
A budget proposal for the construction of Vocational and Maths labs have been submitted to CPWD, and we anticipate that both labs will be operational by the upcoming academic year.
Under inclusive practices and gender equity, A three-month self-defense training session has been organized for Girl students of classes VI to XII. In today’s world, empowering girls with self-defense is not just a good idea, it’s a vital necessity. This training instills confidence, builds resilience, and equips them with the tools to navigate their world with a sense of security and preparedness.
Medical Camps were organized for early identification of disability. Hygiene has been prioritized with the installation of vending machines and incinerators in the vidyalaya, providing convenient access and efficient waste disposal solutions. Also, to ensure personalized support and effective learning for students with diverse learning needs Special Educators were appointed in the vidyalaya.
Under Beneficiary Satisfaction, Community Mobilization program was organized. Student council members were taken to Adoor Municipality and Pallickal Panchayat. During the visit, they engaged in conversations with standing council members and officers responsible for community development initiatives. The students had the opportunity to interact with these leaders and officers, who explained the various welfare measures implemented by the municipality and Panchayat, respectively.
